The American left has advertised itself for decades as being "tolerant" and "inclusive" and "compassionate," and welcoming of "diversity," with "respect for differences of opinion."
As has been demonstrated repeatedly over the last decade, the truth is the exact opposite.
From throwing Senator Lieberman under their "diversity" bus for daring to voice and stand by a dissenting opinion on Iraq (and now savaging him in myriad other ways), to politically-correct "speech codes" on college campuses, to the destruction of campus newspapers that dare to deviate from or challenge leftist thinking, to the innumerable America-bashing conspiracy theories spawned at their confabs, the "new base" of the Democratic Party has exposed itself for the hypocritical, hate-filled propagandists that they are.
Now comes yet another public demonstration of the depths of hate and vile jihadist-enabling thinking that this "new base" of the DNC consists of, appearing (where else!?) on The Huffington Post.
The leftist-dominated mainstream media has all but refused to cover last week's kidnapping of Fox News Channel's Steve Centanni and his cameraman, Olaf Wiig, by Palestinian terrorists (in contrast, of course, to the broad coverage of the Christian Science Monitor's Jill Carroll).
But now a new Islamist terrorist group has laid claim to this crime (here and here), and demanded the United States release "Muslim prisoners" within 72 hours. "Release what you have, and we will release what we have," the Holy Jihad Brigades said in a fax sent to reporters.
The Huffington Post bloggers have been all over it - and the picture isn't a pretty one.
Here are some excerpts from the newest thread on HuffPost that dealt with this subject, that one clear-thinking blogger compiled from current and previous threads dedicated to this subject --- and to which I supplemented with copies of posts from throughout the day:
FUCK THEM. THEY GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED SPINNING THIS WAR COVERAGE TO THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION'S ADVANTAGE. NECON COCKSUCKERS; EVERYONE KNOWS THAT FOX SUX COX!!!!

Too bad it wasn't the lizard Murdoch himself who was kidnapped. Was it really Palestinians who abducted the journalists? Sounds like a Mossad scripted ploy to me, perhaps paying someone else to do it. Who benefits?

The thing that interests me about this story is that FOX is in negotiations to get them released.Isn't FOX opposed to negotiating with terrorists? Isn't that a liberal appeasement wimpy sissy caving in thing to do? Wouldn't Dear Leader, their king, Bush, tell them to not negotiate the release of these two?

Reading this thread is an exercise in astonishment. I can symphatize with the impulse to say "Good." Anyone from Faux deserves to get as much pain and misery thrown at them as possible, and they do, because they willingly work for an organization that promotes partisan policies while claiming to be fair.

I don't think this story is funny at all, but face it, imagining Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly being kidnapped is pretty funny. Those two would be peeing their pants.

Good riddance, they probably are Reîglican-Zionist spies anyway, Looking forward to a beheadding.Fox has NO journalist and they are only a propaganda machine.Get done with them Bozos.

Bush is never going to release anybody. The reporters are part of the evil in America, Fox Zionist propaganda, so go ahead and kill them. It will not be a loss to the cause of freedom and liberty. When you side with the devil, you gotta expect to get burned.

Ah, yes. Those loving, tolerant, diversity-minded, "peaceful," inclusive leftists...
... I wonder when the mainstream press will pick up on these insightful thoughts from the "new base" of the Democratic Party?

Uh-huh.

Hi SqueakyQ, still sulking about those evil jihadists.
BTW do you know what a Jihad is?
Jihad means uprising.
Usually against an occupier of your land.
Israel is illegally occupying Palestinian land. Plus ignoring 65 UN resolutions

Jihad, sometimes spelled Jahad, Jehad, Jihaad or Djehad, (Arabic: جهاد ǧihād) is an Islamic term, from the Arabic root ǧhd ("to exert utmost effort, to strive, struggle"), which connotes a wide range of meanings: anything from an inward spiritual struggle to attain perfect faith to a political or military struggle to further the Islamic cause. Individuals involved in the political or military forms of jihad are often labeled with the neologism "jihadist".
The term "jihad" is often simplistically reduced in western languages and non-Islamic cultures as generally "holy war", but this "physical" struggle, which encompasses religion, only makes up part of the broader meaning of the concept of jihad. (The term 'holy war' was coined by the Christian Crusaders who fought the Muslims for control of the Holy Land.) The denotation is of a struggle, challenge, difficulty or (frequently) opposed effort, made either in accomplishment or as resistance. A person who engages in any form of jihad can be called a mujahid (in plural: mujahidin) (Arabic: striver, struggler), a term even more often applied to groups who practice armed struggle in the name of Islam by Islamic fundamentalists and non-muslims. Such a person might engage in fighting as a military struggle for religious reasons, or for example, struggle to memorize the Qur'an. Jihad has a negative connotation and reputation in much of the West, on par with the reaction to the Christian term crusade in much of the Islamic world.
There you go squeakyQ

BTW
Intefada = Resistance.
Just to clarify.
Thanks for the jihad-appeasing "definition" of jihad that you posted on my blog, NaziGirl.
Of course, that is only one of several definitions - the more applicable being the deliberate and malicious targeting of civilians as a reflection of one's "struggle."
Your beloved France is already surrendering to the jihadists, and it's only a matter of time before they allow them to hoist their flag above their parliament as a means of "getting along."
Seems that had some experience with this kind of thing about 65 years ago... but hey, who's counting?
And how about the rabid rant from the right regarding Jill Carroll? Or doesn't that count, as usual?
Any thoughts on that one, JonQwingnut??
